Daily
Grill Opened in Early January
The Daily Grill provides an ideal meeting place for office workers
and residents of the surrounding communities.
Daily Grill Restaurant joins the distinguished roster of casual
and fine dining establishments located along the Rosecrans corridor.
Situated within Continental Park, the upscale eatery provides classic
American grill fare.
Best known as a full-service restaurant featuring hearty portions
of freshly prepared signature dishes, Daily Grill has become a popular
dining destination with nine locations throughout Southern California.
"The South Bay had been a target location for several years," said
Bob Spivak, president and chief executive of Los Angeles-based Grill
Concepts, Inc. "We had been waiting for the right location and Continental
Park is clearly the right spot for the Daily Grill. Upscale residential
demographics and the proximity of entertainment and office buildings
provide a dynamic opportunity."
Spivak says that the 7,000 square foot eatery features an exhibition-style
kitchen, bar, private- and main-dining room, as well as an exterior
patio and separate outside bar. "Good service is all about teambuilding
between the kitchen and the front of the house. Our chef was trained
by Daily Grill and came up through the ranks. Jim Snodgrass, who
was formerly at the Palm Desert location, is the general manager."
President's
Message:
I'd
like to welcome to Continental Park the firms who have recently
joined the prestigious roster of companies calling the Park home.
Continental Park has been planned as a self-contained environment,
where its occupants can enjoy an array of dining, entertainment
and lifestyle amenities. As such, Continental Park has evolved to
become the South Bay's most desirable business address. The Park's
evolution will continue, but the importance we place on the fine
people and businesses that we have the privilege to serve on a daily
basis will never change. We appreciate your loyalty, and wish you
continued success.

exist for retail and restaurant uses, as well.
El
Segundo Educational Foundation Launches New Community-Giving Program
The El Segundo Educational Foundation (ESEF) approaches its 20th
anniversary next year, and 2002 has the distinction of being the
most successful year in the organization's history.
On February 25, 2002, the biennial fundraiser at McCormick &
Schmick's Seafood Restaurant raised nearly $250,000, an all-time
record for an ESEF event; the annual golf tournament in May was
a resounding success; and the year culminated with the establishment
of the "Superintendent's Roundtable" support group.
Since its forming in 1983, the El Segundo Educational Foundation
has donated more the $1.25 million to schools within the El Segundo
Unified School District. Over the years, the foundation's charitable
support has primarily funded technological and arts-related programs.
On October 24, the foundation launched a new community-giving program,
the Superintendent's Roundtable. "The establishment of the
Superintendent's Roundtable is the next logical step in the foundation's
goal of ensuring sufficient funding of public education in El Segundo,"
says Richard Lundquist, chairman of the El Segundo Educational Foundation.
According to Lundquist, the Superintendent's Roundtable is composed
of those individuals and businesses making annual donations to the
foundation of $1,000 or more. "This significant level of community
support will assist the foundation in helping to prepare young people
for lifelong success by providing funds to supplement those that
the school district receives from the state. It is planned that
the infusion of this additional funding will help enable the local
school district to provide a public education that is competitive
with the best available."
Lundquist says that the foundation is seeking at least 200 individuals
and businesses to join the Superintendent's Roundtable. Benefits
of Superintendent's Roundtable membership will include invitations
to two private events each year featuring briefings by the superintendent
and special guest speakers, tickets to foundation events; recognition
in the organization's annual report; and one-tee sponsorship at
the annual Strokes of Genius golf tournament.

Theatres' Beach Cities-16 Cinemas is one of five exclusive locations
within the theatre chain to serve the legendary Pink's Hot Dogs.
Movie-goers are enjoying premium, all-beef, nine-inch stretch dogs
topped with Pink's mouth-watering chili or traditional toppings
of yellow mustard, raw onions and pickle relish, according to Chris
Walden, operations manager for theatre chain's Beach Cities' location.
Well-known to native and long-time Angelenos, Pink's ranks as one
of the most famous hot dog stands in the country. Located in Hollywood
on Melrose at La Brea for more than 60 years, Pink's was founded
by Paul Pink and it remains a family-owned business today.
"We believe that good food service and customer satisfaction
are an important part of an enjoyable movie-going experience,"
says Walden. "Pink's shares our service and satisfaction philosophy
and it is a great addition to our family. We've had terrific response
from movie-goers, but our snack lobby is open to all guests at all
times and anyone is welcome to come in and purchase a hot dog or
other items."

Fursys
Furniture Collections Featured Exclusively at Office Design Studio
Flexible
office systems suitable to either corporate or home office environments
Art Voronkov and Miroslav Koutko, two Russian émigrés,
formed a partnership after coming to America and gaining the national
distributorship rights for Fursys, a well-known worldwide manufacturer
for brand-name office furniture. Koutko was previously in the furniture
business in Russia, where he was also a distributor for Fursys.
Today, these two entrepreneurs are co-owners of Office Design Studio,
a full-service contract office furniture dealership with a showroom
that relocated to Continental Park in June.
"Continental Park has a prestigious address and it offers a
much higher visibility than our former location. Our mission is
to serve the South Bay's office furniture needs," says
Voronkov. "We are also office design consultants, and our in-house
Design department uses a CAD system to assist clients in planning
various workspace environments."
Voronkov says his studio is not a retail store, but a firm focused
on offering personalized service to small- and mid-sized businesses.
At the same time, Office Design Studio is capable of handling office
furniture projects of any size, according to Voronkov. "We're
a local, one-stop source for high-quality office furnishings at
affordable prices. Fursys is our exclusive line, but we also represent
dozens of other quality national and international manufacturers.
We can get access to most of the lines available on the market today.
Our showroom is open to our clients, where they can evaluate the
level of quality of products and services offered before making
buying decisions."
Located at 2221 Rosecrans in Suite 103, Office Design Studio is
offering businesses within Continen- tal Park free design services
at no cost or obligation, as well as free delivery and installation,
which can total 10% of an entire project.
According to Voronkov, Fursys is very popular in Europe. Its furniture
collections include a wide-selection of panel systems; private office
furniture executive desk systems and office chairs; standard office
and computer desk systems and chairs; cabinets; lobby furniture
such as sofas and sofa tables; conference systems; and mobile storage
stacks. Interchangeable, compact pieces facilitate a variety of
group environments such as hoteling/sales stations; training systems;
team/open office systems; and collaborative/conference systems.
Manufactured in South Korea since 1983, Fursys is that country's
most prominent furniture manufacturer.

Last
year, the South Bay's Spectrum Club underwent a multi-million-dollar
expansion that increased the sports and fitness complex to 100,000
square feet and added $600,000 in new equipment.
Memberships at the facility are month-to-month, according to Carol
Mendelsohn, regional director of marketing for Spectrum Clubs, who
says that workers within Continental Park can join at a substantial
savings.
"Regular memberships are $83 per month, but we're extending a
special price of $66 per month to workers here at Continental Park,"
said Mendelsohn. "Our facilities are state-of-the-art; the best
in the South Bay. The expansion doubled our fitness area and it allows
us to offer over 150 group exercise classes per week."
An expanded cardiovascular center features over 100 pieces of computerized
equipment. The new cardio area provides 53 LifeFitness Treadmills,
one of the best traditional brands on the market that is a fully-featured,
low impact and heavy duty model. There are also 30 Precor Elliptical
Fitness Crosstrainers, the gold-standard of the industry.
The facility features a 12,000-square-foot weight training gym. "The
strength training area was also expanded, and it includes Hammer Strength
equipment, which is the world-leader in plate-loaded strength technology,"
says Mendelsohn.
A hallmark of Spectrum Club quality is its training staff. This style
of training, once available only to elite athletes, provides rapid
improvement in fitness and sports performance.
"We currently have over 35 full-time, degreed and/or certified
personal trainers on our staff," says Dave Lieb, general manager
of Spectrum Club South Bay. "They enjoy a tremendous reputation
in the industry and are distinguished for their expertise in functional
training."
In support of the functional training philosophy, says Lieb, members
will discover a number of unique fitness tools and associated equipment
such as balance and medicine balls, core-boards and Body-Blades'.
According to Mendelsohn, Spectrum Club doubled its number of studios
and it now has six. "In addition to dedicated Pilates and Yoga
Studios, our group exercise classes include cycling, cardio kickboxing,
step and power pump, as well as some others."
Located in Continental Park at 2250 Park Place, Spectrum Club South
Bay is one of 10 full-service health clubs located throughout Southern
California.

schedule, or to inquire about membership, please call (310) 643-6878
